The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Rawalpindi has arrested two suspects in a Turkish work visa fraud case and recovered Rs1.05 million taken from a citizen.
An FIA spokesperson said the suspects, Liaquat Ali and Katib Younis, were taken into custody under case No. 729/2026. They allegedly obtained the entire amount from the complainant by promising to arrange an employment visa for Türkiye.
The investigation was led by Inspector Fahad Iqbal. Investigators recovered the full sum from the suspects and returned it to the victim.
Officials said the roles of other individuals linked to the fraud will be determined as the investigation proceeds. The FIA Islamabad Zone said legal action will continue against networks involved in human trafficking and visa fraud.
Last week, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested four suspects in Islamabad for allegedly defrauding citizens through fake visa and air ticket services advertised in WhatsApp groups, offering forged travel documents instead of genuine ones.
The agency registered two FIRs under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 and the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), while further investigations continue to determine the scale of the fraud and identify accomplices.
