The Los Angeles Ramswaived wide receiver and punt returner Alex Bachman this week after he replaced Xavier Smith in the return role. Bachman was elevated to take Smith's place, and while he did do a good job tracking and fielding the ball – something Smith failed to do as a returner – Bachman was unable to provide a spark, either calling for fair catches or taking returns for minimal gains.
However, following the move to cut him on Tuesday, the Rams re-signed Bachman to their practice squad a day later.
LA Rams Roster Moves:
• Reserve/Injured RB Dean Connors
• Signed to Active Roster from Practice Squad CB Cam Lampkin
• Terminated, Vested Veteran, all contracts WR Alex Bachman

The Rams have yet to sign another returner, calling into question who will be operating in the role this Sunday when the team travels to take on the Washington Commanders. Bachman could be a practice squad elevation and resume his role as the return specialist.
Considering the creative ways the Rams have gone about roster management in the past, Bachman's removal could indicate the team could be set to activate either Myles Garrett or Terrance Ferguson off injured reserve this week, if not both.
Garrett's practice window will be opened and he will participate in practice this week. Ferguson's hasn't yet, and his practice status is unclear, but there is a good chance he'll participate. Their game statuses are both unknown.
Both Kyren Williams and Blake Corum have been used as emergency returners in the past, so they could be options on Sunday.
