“Great respect for Raheem. Loved him as a head coach,” Cousins said. “Loved him as a DB coach when I was with him in Washington. He just knows football so well. Very few coaches can understand the game the way he does and at so many levels and so many facets, he can talk ball, which is very unique.”

Cousins also discussed the challenge of facing San Francisco’s defense, praising its talent and preparation across all three levels. He specifically highlighted linebacker Fred Warner and defensive linemen Nick Bosa and DeForest Buckner, while recognizing the secondary’s ability to play aggressively and create opportunities.
Morris previously coached Cousins in Washington and later served as his head coach with the Atlanta Falcons. Their shared history makes the quarterback’s praise particularly meaningful.
With the Raiders preparing to face San Francisco, Cousins will need to turn that respect into preparation. He knows the personnel and understands the challenge, but the 49ers’ defense will be looking to make life difficult for him.
