By Residents in Quetta will soon have access to the first mass transit train in Balochistan, with Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti announcing that the Jinnah Peoples Train will open to the public shortly.
The 32-kilometer railway track built for the project has been fully upgraded, with construction completed in just 120 days at a cost of Rs3 billion. The train will run along seven stations between Kuchlak and Sariab, covering Kuchlak, Baleli, Sheikh Manda, GOR, Quetta, Lor Karez, and Sariab Station.
Bugti said the Jinnah Peoples Train will offer a safe, comfortable, and affordable travel option for residents of Quetta and surrounding areas, easing daily commutes for students, employees, businesspeople, and the general public.
He described the project as a significant step toward providing modern and dignified travel facilities to the public.
The chief minister said public amenity projects across the province are being completed on schedule, with benefits already reaching residents. He added that the new train service would save citizens time, reduce travel expenses, and mark a notable improvement in transport facilities for Quetta and its vicinity.
