The Seattle Seahawks made a bold move, trading for guard Quenton Nelson to strengthen their offensive line. But he only lasted one game before missing time. Nelson needs surgery to clean up cartilage in his knee, and while he won't be placed on injured reserve, he will miss at least one game.

Nelson will most likely return after their bye week, when they face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. He will already be out for Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals, whom the Seahawks defeated 31-7 earlier in the season. Their Week 10 game is against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Nelson’s injury adds to the mounting injury concerns for the Seahawks. Their left tackle, Charles Cross, has also been ruled out against Arizona. On top of that, starting quarterback Sam Darnold is out, and backup quarterback Drew Lock is questionable after being limited in practice all week. Wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has also been ruled out.
Seattle is coming off a 17-point loss to the Chicago Bears, while the Cardinals are coming off an overtime victory against the Dallas Cowboys with their new quarterback, Gardner Minshew. The Seahawks would fall under .500 for the first time since Week 1 of the 2025 season with a loss to Arizona.
