Coming out of the Week 8 bye, the San Francisco 49ers will go up against the Las Vegas Raiders, a strong team that could give the 49ers some real trouble this week.

Unfortunately for the 49ers, things might be a lot more challenging than maybe initially thought. The reason why? The team shared some bad news about Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel for this Week 9 matchup.

Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area shared that John Lynch on KNBR radio revealed both Samuel and Evans are unlikely to play in Week 9 despite getting the bye week to rest up.

49ers get bad news on Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel for Week 9

"GM John Lynch on KNBR: It's likely Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel will not be available Sunday against the Raiders," Maiocco reports.

This is some tough news for the 49ers, as the Week 8 bye was hopefully meant to give both of these veterans a chance to come back healthy for the WR room.

However, with this report, it's looking likely that both Evans and Samuel will miss another game. While they did get good news on two returning WRs, KhaDarel Hodge and Demarcus Robinson, the bad news is that their top two WRs are likely to be out.

With these injury updates in mind, the 49ers now look likely to head into Week 9 against the Raiders, with Christian Kirk, Jordan Watkins, Brandin Cooks, Jacob Cowing, Robinson, and Hodge as the team's top receivers.

This 49ers wide receiver room is very injured at the moment. While Evans and Samuel should be able to come back relatively soon, and De'Zhuan Stribling is also working his way back from injured reserve, Week 9's WR room is looking very shaky.

Lynch shared the news on Thursday morning, after Samuel and Evans didn't practice on Wednesday. Both look likely to miss the Raiders game, which further highlights the team's need for WR help by the November 10 NFL trade deadline.
