Charlie Woods dons Florida State cap in signing day ceremony

PALM BEACH GARDENS ― Charlie Woods headlined Benjamin's fall signing day celebration on Friday, Nov. 6, putting pen to paper to cement his commitment to Florida State men's golf.

Woods, the son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, originally committed to FSU back in February.

He will join Miles Russell, the current No. 1 player in the American Junior Golf Association's Rolex Rankings, in a star-studded Florida State recruiting class from the Class of 2027.

Woods has had yet another strong start to the high school golf playoffs this season.

His best highlight came when he sank a 40-foot putt on the 18th hole at the district tournament at Champions Club at Summerfield in Stuart on Oct. 27. The shot cemented his own individual district title with a 69 (2-under) as well as helped the Buccaneers to the team district crown.

While the Bucs' regional championship was more of a collective effort, Woods again came through in the clutch to help Benjamin edge rival Oxbridge Academy. His 70 (1-under) tied teammate Brooks Colton for the team lead and was the 7th lowest score across the field of play.

Woods will join an FSU men's golf program that was last ranked No. 47 across Division I programs.
