Cleveland Browns sign former Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman

By November 6, 2026

It was reported by the Cleveland Browns that they signed offensive lineman Xavier Truss to their practice squad this week. Truss began his NFL career in 2025, going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, and later signing with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent.

He was released by Denver, then signed with the New Orleans Saints. He played in seven games for the Saints in 2025, but New Orleans has moved on from him.

This season, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad last month. Truss now has a new team in Cleveland, and there's some familiarity there as well, with him being on their practice squad earlier this season before the Browns released him in early October.

Truss played college football with the Georgia Bulldogs from 2019 to 2024, winning two national championships. He was also named Second-Team All-SEC in 2023. Truss has the athleticism and versatility to play everywhere on the offensive line, logging time at every position except center while in college.

Truss adds depth to the Browns' offensive line and could even be called up for a game or two in the next few weeks. He played at Georgia under Browns head coach Todd Monken, who was Georgia's offensive coordinator.
