Braves rumors: Freddy Peralta, Michael King among starters linked to Atlanta appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Atlanta Braves need to consider adding a starting pitcher or two this offseason. Freddy Peralta would be a good fit for the Braves. He won’t demand as lucrative a contract as Tarik Skubal but still features a high ceiling. Jim Bowden of The Athletic recently mentioned that Atlanta could have interest in Peralta as well as a few other starters.
“I expect them to have some interest in free agents such as Michael King, Sonny Gray, Freddy Peralta and Shota Imanaga, if they can’t trade for a top starter,” Bowden wrote.
The Braves will look to address other areas of the roster as well, but the starting rotation is the biggest question mark at the moment. Chris Sale is the reliable ace. With that being said, the rest of the rotation has questions.

Tyler Mahle will be a candidate for Atlanta to re-sign in free agency. Regardless of whether or not the Braves bring Mahle back, reaching out to Peralta, King and the other starters Bowden mentioned would make sense. They would all give the ball club a boost.
Bowden also left the door open for Atlanta to possibly trade for a starter. The Braves will have different paths they can take to improve this offseason.
Regardless of how they get it done, adding at least two capable starting pitchers should be their goal. That would give them Sale and two new pitchers. They have enough depth already on the roster to then cover the No. 4 and No. 5 spots in the rotation.
