Coach Dan Quinn’s Washington Commanders are 2-4-1 on the season with a crucial game up next against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9 that will come without injured, star receiver Terry McLaurin. Quinn fielded an awkward Davante Adams question and then focused on two of his own playmakers, wide receivers Dyami Brown and Treylon Burks.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler commented on the situation with November 8’s game scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.

Brown is a former playoff hero with the Commanders who lit up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions during 2025’s playoff run, before wilting with 42 yards in the NFC Title Game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Brown has played in seven games this season and has contributed, albiet at a reduced rate, with nine receptions for 94 yards and no touchdowns. He has been dealing with a calf injury.
Burks has been ramping up his production this season with 12 catches for 233 yards and two touchdowns, including 81 yards against the Eagles on November 1. He is dealing with a left foot injury.
The Commanders were previously linked to 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk in trade rumors. Aiyuk is expected to be back soon ahead of November 10’s trade deadline. Trades looked like a longshot for the Commanders, but Quinn’s team may need to push a few buttons and try a few things in hopes of turning themselves into a contender with time ticking down on the NFL season.
