By The federal cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has approved designs for new currency notes on the recommendation of the Ministry of Finance and decided to replace the Rs10 note with a Rs10 coin.
The cabinet received a detailed briefing on the new notes during its meeting. Proposals for the designs were obtained from artists and designers across the country, while a cabinet committee formed by the prime minister consulted all relevant stakeholders.
The new notes will carry advanced security features to prevent counterfeiting. Quality, modern materials will also be used, increasing the durability of the notes and extending their lifespan.
