FSU's defensive snap count vs Boston College

By November 8, 2026

It didn't start well, but the FSU defense settled in against the Boston College Eagles, holding them to 24 points as the Seminoles came back to win, snapping their three-game losing streak. FSU also ended its 12-game road losing streak with the win, to the delight of their fans.

For just the second time this season, they were able to get multiple turnovers, with Nehemiah Chandler and Ja'Bril Rawls both snagging an interception. While the offense was unable to turn them into points, they did end one scoring opportunity. It was also the debut for Ernie Sims as FSU's defensive coordinator, with interim head coach Rick Stockstill praising his love for the Seminoles, but saying he has to do a better job controlling his emotions after getting called for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

And, you know, Ernie, thank goodness that we were able to get a first down and we didn't have to punt because that would have been not very good there.

So I got to get him back on the sideline. He can't do that. But you can see the love that he has for this university, for this football program. But that wasn't really a good thing, to be honest with you, him running out there in the midfield. Amari saved him by getting a first down.

The Seminoles used 19 different players during their 66 defensive snaps against Boston College. Here's how much everyone played, per Pro Football Focus.
