The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a revised admission procedure for MBBS and BDS applicants under its scholarship project for students from Balochistan and erstwhile FATA for the 2026-27 academic session. Under the new procedure, candidates must apply directly to their preferred medical and dental universities instead of relying on HEC for admission arrangements.
According to the commission, universities will manage admissions, seat allocations, and placements according to the approved Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) allocations and applicable admission rules. HEC will continue providing financial assistance to candidates selected through its prescribed merit-based scholarship process under the Phase-III project.
The commission has clarified that receiving an HEC scholarship does not guarantee admission to an MBBS or BDS program. Similarly, securing university admission does not automatically make a student eligible for scholarship funding. Applicants must independently meet the admission requirements of their chosen institution and complete the separate HEC scholarship selection process.
Interested students should visit the official admission portals of their preferred medical and dental universities for application details and admission requirements.
