New York Giants quarterback J.J. McCarthy left Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles after taking a massive hit on a deisgned quarterback run early in the third quarter.

McCarthy went to the sideline and tried to throw after taking a hit from Zach Baun. He collapsed to the ground after being in the shoulder/rib cage area by Baun.

Jameis Winston is in the game.

McCarthy headed to the locker room after being examined in the blue medical tent.

Baun was also injured on the play.

The Giants acquired McCarthy from the Minnesota Vikings after Jaxson Dart was lost to a knee injury in Week 2. McCarthy started his first game with the team in Week 7 and the Giants defeated the Houston Texans in overtime.

McCarthy is questionable to return to the game with a hip injury. Baun is also questionable with a back injury.
