Manchester Fashion Week will launch Campfield Studios, a new production and events space at Campfield, when it returns to Manchester’s St John’s district from 9-12 September.
Housed inside the historic Upper Campfield Market Hall, the venue combines a central atrium with a large-format LED wall, a ground floor studio with interchangeable backdrops and a professional lighting rig, and three daylight studios on the mezzanine. Manchester Fashion Week will be its first full public showcase as a standalone space available for external hire.
Across the four-day programme, Campfield Studios will host talks, workshops, designer presentations and runway shows, with fashion photoshoots running in the daylight studios so prospective hirers can see the space in use. Speakers include designer Katharine Hamnett, London Fashion Week pioneer Lynne Franks OBE, Manchester designer Mariusz Malon and adaptive-fashion designer Victoria Jenkins.
Clare Shutt, head of marketing at Campfield, said: “Manchester Fashion Week is the ideal way to introduce Campfield Studios because people can see the space doing what it was designed to do. It will be exciting to watch the venue transform across the week, hosting different audiences and formats that show just how adaptable the space can be. St John’s has always been at the heart of Manchester’s creative industries, and Campfield Studios is a new space for companies to host, experiment and create in.”
A natural extension for the Manchester Fashion Week team
The Manchester Fashion Week team is based at Campfield, which opened in 2025 as a technology, media and creative campus. Gemma Gratton, executive producer of Manchester Fashion Week, said: “Campfield Studios gives us the flexibility we need to bring together fashion, technology, education and industry conversation within one distinctive setting. Our team is based at Campfield, too, so we know first-hand what it offers creative businesses. Hosting part of Manchester Fashion Week here feels like a natural extension of that relationship and an opportunity to show what can be created in the space.”
