By The Punjab government has ordered physical verification of students enrolled in all licensed private schools across the province to identify fake enrolments. Schools found involved in fraudulent enrolment will face cancellation of their licences.
The verification drive will cover private schools across all 41 districts of Punjab and must be completed by November 20, 2026. District focal persons and Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) have been assigned responsibility for the process, with AEOs required to personally visit and verify students at their designated schools.
According to the instructions, private schools must be informed at least one day before the inspection. The government has warned that schools found guilty of maintaining fake student records could lose their licences.
