Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys fell to a 3-5 record after a home loss on Sunday. The Arizona Cardinals managed to force overtime at AT&T Stadium before sealing a 33-30 victory thanks to a 42-yard field goal by Chad Ryland.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Machota, the Cowboys provided locker room availability to reporters on Monday. However, no players were available for an interview.
“The Cowboys just had locker room availability, but majority of roster left the facility before we got in there. No players were interviewed. Can’t say I remember that happening before,” Machota tweeted.
Cowboys analyst RJ Ochoa chimed in:
“Roster/Team/Staff/Organization is cooked”
The Dallas Cowboys have not made a Super Bowl appearance since winning Super Bowl XXX during the 1995 season.
In addition, the Cowboys have failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2023. Brian Schottenheimer replaced Mike McCarthy as the head coach last season. However, they finished second in the NFC East with a 7-9-1 record.
The Cowboys still have a chance to make the playoffs. Jerry Jones and his team are currently in second place in their division behind the New York Giants. John Harbaugh’s Giants are 4-2-1 after a bye in Week 8 and are next scheduled to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 8.
Jerry Jones shares his thoughts on the Cowboys’ Week 8 loss to the Cardinals
Speaking with reporters after the game, Jerry Jones expressed his disappointment with the outcome. He also seemed to defend Brian Schottenheimer despite his hot-seat status intensifying after a 1-2 record in the last three games.
“I will say that a lot of people let Brian down today,” Jones said. “And so, for whatever criticism we’re gonna have of Brian, we’re all going to get in line. And that was a total, to use a cliché, that was a total team effort out there.
“We have to be for our fans, have to be than that when we got our hands on a win and then drop the ball.”
The Dallas Cowboys will next face the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 8.
