Top performers in No. 17 Houston's 31-24 victory over Cincinnati:
Amare Thomas
Thomas set the tone early with a pair of touchdown catches, increasing his season total to a team-high eight. He has 20 touchdown catches over the past two seasons, the most since Tank Dell had 29 from 2021-22.
Re'Shaun Sanford II
Find me a better comeback story than Sanford, the junior running back who has overcome two ACL injuries in the past three seasons. Sanford had a career-high 126 yards against Cincinnati, including a 51-yard run with 5:10 remaining that proved to be the game-winner. He has 573 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
Conner Weigman
Given how consistent Weigman has been this season it's easy to take his production for granted. He had another solid outing, completing 17 of 24 for 227 yards and two touchdowns without a turnover. He also added a 2-yard scoring run, giving him 27 total TDs this season.
Christian Braithwaite
With Carmycah Glass injured and Sione Fotu missing most of the week's practice as he prepared to welcome his first child, Braithwaite played a career-high 50 snaps. His biggest contribution came when he recovered a fumble on a lateral with 2:11 remaining to help seal the win.
Jaden Yates
After missing a month with an injury, the linebacker returned with a team-high nine tackles and a pass breakup.
Quindario Lee
After missing last season because of injury, the seventh-year defensive lineman recorded his second sack of the season and played a season-high 32 snaps.
