What Josh Heupel said about officials call on Tennessee's DaSaahn Brame in end zone

Tennessee football coach Josh Heupel got an unsatisfying explanation from officials on a key pass into the end zone during the Vols win over Kentucky at Neyland Stadium on Nov. 7.

With the Vols struggling to find consistency in the passing game, and nursing a four-point lead over the Wildcats, quarterback George MacIntyre fired a pass for tight end DaSaahn Brame into the far corner of the end zone. The pass was ruled incomplete, but replay showed that Brame had two hands on the ball and got at least one foot down.

Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said officials did review the play but didn't agree that Brame met the criteria for a touchdown.

"They said that they did review it," Heupel said postgame. "I asked them."

No. 16 Tennessee scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to secure a blowout, 34-6 victory over the No. 7 Wildcats and make the controversial call a moot point.

Brame suffered an injury on the play, hitting the back of his head on the turf. He was helped off the field and did not return to the game, finishing with one reception for three yards.
