The NFL's much-anticipated trade deadline is coming up on Tuesday, Nov. 10, which means it's down to the wire for teams to pick up the phone and trade with each other. After the trade deadline passes, player contracts won't be assigned or traded from one team to the next, marking the end of any trade activity for the season. The deadline is specifically 4 p.m. ET on Nov. 10.

In a feature released on Thursday by ESPN, Bill Barnwell rattles off a handful of trade ideas that he sees as fitting for teams that are real contenders to go deep in the playoffs.

The Kansas City Chiefs, of course, are one of those teams. This team is hot right now. Sure, they just dropped a game, but the Chiefs are still 5-2 for the season and making a run for the postseason. Barnwell sees this team helping quarterback Patrick Mahomes with a smart deal.

Kansas City could explore several options to give Mahomes another receiving weapon

The Chiefs could use help on offense, and Mahomes could certainly benefit from another great wide receiver. Barnwell lays out a few options.

He really pinpoints star wideout Brian Thomas Jr., whom he calls a "dream addition for the Chiefs at wide receiver." However, he warns that the Jacksonville Jaguars likely won't trade him to "their rivals in the AFC."

But there are other top wideouts on the market. There's a second star Barnwell mentions.

"Would the 3-5 Cowboys consider trading George Pickens, who is a free agent after the season and unlikely to be back on a long-term deal?" he asks. "Pickens would probably be a short-term fix for Kansas City, but it doesn't have anyone who can win on the outside like him. Dallas might be willing to move forward with CeeDee Lamb and Ryan Flournoy at wide receiver and play more 12 or 21 personnel."

He adds, "If the Chiefs play free agency right, they should be able to land a fourth- or fifth-round pick for Pickens as a compensatory selection next offseason."

Either way, the Chiefs could always use more help at wideout, and that would really help make Mahomes even more explosive.
