As No. 20 Iowa (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) enters the final month of the 2026-27 regular season, the Augusta Sports Council named second-year punter Boston Everitt to the 2026 Ray Guy Award Midseason Watch List on Thursday.
Established in 2000, the Ray Guy Award honors College and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Ray Guy and is given to the nation’s top collegiate punter. Former Hawkeye standout Tory Taylor won the prestigious award in 2023, while Ryan Donahue was named a finalist in 2010.
Everitt is averaging 43.7 yards on 36 punts through his first eight games as a Hawkeye, which ranks No. 37 nationally and No. 6 in the Big Ten in punting average. A native of New Hope, Australia, Everitt has also placed 21 punts inside the 20-yard line—including four against Iowa State. He has forced 13 fair catches and sent seven punts 50 yards or further, highlighted by a career-long 60-yard kick at Minnesota.

A national voting body consisting of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) sports information directors, media representatives, and previous Ray Guy Award winners will select the top three finalists, who will be announced on Nov. 22. Following that announcement, the voting body will cast final ballots to determine the nation's top punter.
Everitt and the Hawkeyes will look to continue their quest for a College Football Playoff berth on Saturday, Nov. 7, as they visit the new Ryan Field in Evanston, Ill., to take on the Northwestern Wildcats (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten). Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on Fox.
