ESPN College GameDay announces questionable Week 10 location

Week 10 is arguably the toughest week of the 2026 college football season for ESPN's "College GameDay" to pick where to broadcast live. Instead of choosing a marquee Big Ten or SEC matchup, GameDay will head to South Bend, Indiana, to feature the No. 1 team in the nation on the road against No. 11 Notre Dame.

When the first College Football Playoff rankings came out on Tuesday, Notre Dame was surprisingly slotted at No. 11 because of the Irish's weaker schedule and the fact that its one marquee matchup was a loss at BYU. Notre Dame needs a win to guarantee a CFP berth.

Miami-Notre Dame is a top-tier matchup, but the games ESPN passed over are staggering. Georgia at Ole Miss, LSU vs. Alabama, BYU at Utah, Texas vs. Missouri, Tennessee vs. Kentucky and Ohio State vs. Oregon. Week 10 is by far the most influential slate of games this year, with several teams likely to separate themselves.

Through nine weeks, GameDay has visited two Big 12 and Big Ten schools and five SEC schools. It has yet to be on site at an ACC campus, but has attended schools where Clemson and Miami were the opponents.
