Green Bay Packers starting cornerback Keisean Nixon misses Nov. 5 practice

By November 5, 2026

GREEN BAY − The Green Bay Packers had another key starter on defense miss practice Nov. 5.

The Packers were in full pads going through drills inside the Don Huston Center as they prepare for a road matchup with the New England Patriots on Nov. 8.

There were five players who were off to the side not participating.

Here’s the latest:

Keisean Nixon injury update

Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon was held out of practice.

He was a limited participant Nov. 4 due to a groin injury.

He was off to the side not dressed out as the rest of the team participated in practice.

Nixon has been dealing with a groin injury that bothered him leading up to the team’s Week 6 game with the Dallas Cowboys. He was also questionable to play with a shoulder injury in the team's Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers, but he played the full game.

Sean Rhyan injury update

Packers center Sean Rhyan missed his second straight day of practice.

Rhyan suffered a high-ankle sprain early during the Packers’ Week 7 game against the Detroit Lions, and was ruled out for the Week 8 matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

John Williams stepped in at center.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he doesn’t expect Rhyan to go on injured reserve, making it possible he won’t have to miss at least four games.

Zaire Franklin injury update

Packers linebacker Zaire Franklin was held out of practice for the second straight day.

Franklin missed the past two games due to a shin injury he suffered in practice.

Travis Glover injury update

Packers lineman Travis Glover also missed his second day of practice.

Glover, who stepped in at right guard, played the full game against the Lions, but then coaches learned of his knee injury the following day.

He missed the Panthers game due to a knee injury.

Laken Tomlinson moved over to play right guard once Aaron Banks returned to the left side.

Josh Whyle injury update

Packers tight end Josh Whyle didn’t participate for the second straight day.

Whyle exited the Panthers game early and was put in concussion protocol.

Chris Brooks injury update

Packers running back Chris Brooks participated in practice for the second day.

The Packers opened his 21-day practice window on Nov. 4.

He was in full pads going through drills with the other running backs, during the portion of practice open to media.

Brooks played in the first four games of the season, but was placed on injured reserve Oct. 10 after injuring his ankle in the Week 4 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Micah Parsons injury update

Packers defensive end Micah Parsons was out on the field for his second straight practice.

Parsons was dressed in shoulder pads and a helmet and was running drills with the other defensive linemen.

Parsons’ 21-day practice window from the physically-unable-to-perform list opened Nov. 4, when he participated only in individual drills.

LaFleur said Parsons likely will need the full three weeks of practice window before he’s back on the field.

“He’s been cleared to go full-go in regards to what he’s doing out there,” LaFleur said Nov. 4. “I think just how they limit him and his ability where it’s just individual, but I expect him to go when he’s out there. He’s been cleared for that.”
