By Saudi Arabia has unveiled the Ceer Exobot Sedan and Exobot SUV, marking the country’s first locally developed electric vehicles as it works toward its target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060.
Both EVs feature three electric motors producing a combined 838 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. The Exobot Sedan can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.6 seconds, while the SUV completes the same sprint in 2.9 seconds.
The vehicles use a 112 kWh battery with a claimed range of up to 416 miles under the NEDC testing cycle. They also feature an 800-volt electrical architecture and support DC fast charging of up to 250 kW.
The powertrain technology comes from several global partners. BMW has licensed the electric motors, Rimac Technology supplies the rear electric drive unit, and Hyundai Transys provides the front motors. Foxconn is responsible for the vehicle platform and electrical architecture.
Designed under former McLaren designer Rob Melville, both models feature large glass roofs, upward-opening gullwing-style doors and a 48-inch display extending across the dashboard.
Production of the Exobot Sedan and SUV is scheduled to begin at King Abdullah Economic City in January 2027, with first deliveries expected in March 2027. Saudi Arabia will initially be the company’s main market.
Ceer plans to expand into other Gulf Cooperation Council markets in the first half of 2028, followed by potential expansion into the wider Middle East, Africa and other international markets.
The company is jointly backed primarily by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Foxconn. Ceer also plans to introduce five additional models, including another sedan, SUVs and compact vehicles, over the next two years. Pricing for the Exobot Sedan and SUV has not yet been announced.
