The Major League Baseball offseason is officially underway. Now that the Milwaukee Brewers have won their first World Series and celebrated in the streets with fans who never thought they'd see the day, the next order of business is free agency, and it has arrived. The question now is if and when names will start coming off the board before a potential lockout.
On this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman discuss their free agent rankings for this offseason, which are headlined by ace left-handed starting pitcher Tarik Skubal and where the two-time Cy Young Award winner could land. They also discuss which of the players who received qualifying offers might actually accept them and whether or not there will be a position player in this class who gets a contract offer worth over $100 million.
Later in the show, Jake and Jordan talk about the Seattle Mariners hiring 36-year-old first-time manager Jason Kanzler to lead the club and whether or not bringing in a skipper with no on-field managing experience will work for them. They then take a look at the latest in the CBA negotiations following MLB's latest proposal to the players and Jake talks about pitching in a rec league game.
